RECENT LAWSUIT FILED ON BEHALF OF A
TEEN:
VIOLATION OF
DUTY TO PROTECT A MINOR, DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION,
MEDICAL NEGLECT, CHILD ABUSE
This lawsuit
alleges a minor child, Isaac Hersh, was forcefully and against his
will taken to a facility for
troubled youth,
Tranquility
Bay
in Jamaica. Because of documented cases of abuse at
Tranquility
Bay,
and because of the forceful nature in which the boy disappeared, his
community actively sought to assist
in his rescue.
The Law
Offices of Joshua M. Ambush located in
Baltimore,
Maryland,
filed the Complaint on behalf of
the Washington
Center
for Peace and Justice on March 19, 2008, and against the parents and
the
State Department.
This was a
novel approach that worked. Mr. Ambush indicated he did not sue
WWASPS, as has been
done in the past. The focus of this suit was to force the State
Department to do everything they are
mandated by law to do in order to protect abused minor children abroad.
Read the
Complaint and the Motion to Dismiss below. After the suit was filed,
the State Department took
action and Isaac was released. The case was subsequently dismissed.

JURY AWARDS
$2 MILLION VERDICT FOR SCHOOL FOR AUTISTIC CHILD
A Suffolk County jury
awarded $2 million today to the family of an autistic boy who was abused
at Boston
Higashi School, a private school for autistic children in Randolph,
Massachusetts, the lawyers for the
family said. The jury found the executive director, Robert Fantasia, three
teachers, a doctor, and an
administrator at the school responsible for the physical abuse caused to
plaintiff Scott Tedeman. The
student's family said it discovered the abuse in 2000 and later withdrew
him from the school where he
was a residential student for 14 years. (click

Plaintiff never
had a behavioral disorder of any kind, the defendants had her taken
out of school, strip searched
and placed in their treatment
facility. For thirteen years they deprived her of an education, kept
her in a closed
society in which they made all the rules,
systematically destroyed her ability to function in society and
engaged
in horrific behavior modification techniques by rewarding
her for lying and punishing her for telling the truth. When
she
finally escaped she had no money, no education and no ability to
function. She did have mental illnesses and
suicidal ideations
induced by what they did to her.
