STATS Maia Szalavitz Speaks at CATO, Talahassee Rally for Martin Lee Anderson

Boot Camp Abuses under the scientific spotlight

STATS Senior Fellow Maia Szalavitz spoke at the CATO Institute last Thursday to discuss her new investigative expose, Help at Any Cost: How the Troubled-Teen Industry Cons Parents and Hurts Kids.

Evan Wright, Contributing Editor to Rolling Stone and author of Generation Kill: Devil Dogs, Iceman, Captain America, and the New Face of American War, also spoke from personal experience about his time in a troubled teen program.

Szalavitz was also invited to speak at a rally in Talahassee for justice for teen boot camp victim Martin Lee Anderson, which was headlined by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. She discusses both these experiences over at the Huffington Post.
